| The Zoo de Champrépus (near to Villedieu-les-Poêles) offers a chance to view over thirty different species of wild animal, including lion, tiger and other big cats [see picture] living harmoniously in 14 acres of landscaped parkland. There are picnic and snack-bar facilities on site. Similarly attractive zoos in parkland can be found at La Bourbansais Chateau at Pleugueneuc (south of St.Malo) and at Jurques (between Vire and Caen). The excellent Zoo and Botanical Park at St.Symphorium-les-Monts (near to St.Hilaire du Harcouët) was badly damaged by the hurricane of Christmas 1999.
There is a superb marine aquarium on the main road between St.Malo and Dinard (Le Grand Aquarium) and a fresh-water aquarium within the walls of the old city of St.Malo. There is also a Reptilarium at Beauvoir (near Mont
St.Michel).
