| A fine stretch of coastal scenery runs along the north coast of Brittany from St.Brieuc in the west to Cancale in the east. It includes some famous beaches: Dinard, St.Lunaire, Paramé etc and the corsair city of St.Malo. The Emerald Coast is rocky, heavily indented and very picturesque with several long peninsulas.
The scenic road along the coast offers many excursions to the points, enabling the visitor to enjoy spectacular sites and panoramas. The picture shows 230-foot high Cap Fréhel, near the centre of this remarkable coastline. On a clear day you can see Bréhat to the west, Jersey to the north and Granville and the Chausey Islands to the east. The scenery can also be admired by regular boat excursions from St.Malo or
Dinard. |
