Granville
Manche, Normandy

Flag of France
Granville lies on the SW coast of the Department of Manche.
Granville
Granville, set on the promentary of Lihou, is often called the "Monaco of the North".

This lively seaside resort is known for its July Carnival and for being the birthplace of Christian Dior, but Granville is also a busy port with an active fishing fleet and a pleasure boat harbour. The Upper Town, still encircled by its ramparts, retains all the atmosphere of a fortified town, whereas the Lower Town is the business and tourist resort area. The magnificent beaches to the south of the town extend as far as Carolles.

Granville is the departure point for ferries to the Chausey Islands and, during the summer, also for daily foot-passenger ferries to the Channel Islands.
